Having a hit-or-miss season in IPL 2024, Daryl Mitchell seemed to have found his target during the practice session ahead of the CSK vs PBKS match at Dharamshala.
While practising near the boundary, the Kiwi all-rounder hit one of the fans with his powerful shot, smashing the fan’s mobile phone into pieces. The video of this incident went viral on the internet.
However, Mitchell quickly recognised his mistake and decided to make amends with a heartwarming gesture. Not only did he apologise to the fan for the damage, but he also presented him with his batting gloves.
Later, the fan displays the gloves in the same video.

In the game against Punjab, Chennai Super Kings found their winning form. They defeated the home side with Ravindra Jadeja’s all-around masterclass.
When asked to bat first, CSK found themselves in a world of trouble, with the top order collapsing again. The middle order couldn’t add much, either. But Ravindra Jadeja stood his ground and smashed 43 off just 26 balls.
Later, with the ball in hand, he clinched three crucial wickets: Pabhsimran, Curran, and Ashutosh Sharma. This helped other bowlers put some pressure on the home side, which eventually emerged victorious with a 28-run margin.
Chennai has climbed to third place on the points table with this victory. However, they don’t have a firm hold on the playoff spot, given that they are tied with three other teams at the same number of points.
The race to the playoffs is heating up, with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants all tied with 12 points. Chennai, with a slightly better net run rate, are in the mix. The final two spots are up for grabs, adding an extra layer of excitement to IPL 2024.
