The Indian cricket team has had an excellent start to their T20 World Cup campaign in the USA and West Indies. They faced off against Bangladesh at the
Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, and emerged victorious by a margin of 60 runs.
Despite the absence of key players like Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Indian cricket team showcased their resilience and delivered a complete and dominating performance.
However, the Indian coach is still worried about something that he believes can cause trouble for his team in the long run of the tournament.
Dravid on Playing conditions of the USA grounds
Addressing the challenges posed by the sand-based ground in the USA, Coach Dravid highlighted the team’s unity and adaptability, stating, “The ground is a little bit soft. So I think the guys will feel that a little bit tomorrow on the hamstring and calves, so it is an area we have to ensure we are working around and ensure that the guys are looking after themselves because it does feel a little bit heavy underneath.”
The match was a thrilling display of individual brilliance. Rishabh Pant, batting in an international game for the first time in almost two years, smoked a half-century, while Hardik Pandya’s 40* runs knock from just 23 balls showcased his exceptional form.
Later, the Indian bowling unit led by Arshdeep Singh also produced greatness on the drop-in wicket. He claimed two wickets in his spell of three overs and only conceded 12 runs. Another silver lining from the game was the bowling presence of Shivam Dube. Despite failing with the bat in hand, he bowled three overs, giving away just 13 runs and claiming two wickets as well. Bumrah, Siraj, Pandya, and Axar Patel also claimed one wicket each.
India will face Ireland in the tournament’s opening encounter on Wednesday in New York. The Indians are expected to start the campaign on a winning note.
