The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 concluded spectacularly, with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) emerging victorious to claim their third title. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who put up a formidable fight, had to settle for the runners-up position. KKR’s triumph earned them a significant prize of INR 20 crore, while SRH took home INR 13 crore. The total prize money reserved for the season amounted to INR 46.5 crore, which was distributed among various achievers.

Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, finishing third and fourth, respectively, were rewarded handsomely. Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals received INR 7 crore, while Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured INR 6.5 crore.

Virat Kohli Earns Orange Cap, Harshal Patel Clinches Purple Cap and a Grand Prize

One of the highlights of the season was Virat Kohli’s phenomenal performance. The RCB star won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament, amassing 741 runs in 15 matches. Kohli’s remarkable season included a century and five fifties, with his highest score being an unbeaten 113. His impressive strike rate of 154.69 was the highest he has ever achieved in a single IPL season. Kohli’s achievement earned him a prize of INR 10 lakh.

The Purple Cap went to Punjab Kings’ pacer Harshal Patel, who concluded the tournament with 24 wickets in 14 matches. Patel’s stellar performance, characterized by an economy rate of 9.73 and an average of 19.87, also earned him INR 10 lakh.

SRH’s Nitish Kumar Reddy was honoured as the Emerging Player of the Season for his outstanding all-around performance. The Most Valuable Player of the Year award went to KKR veteran Sunil Narine, who also clinched the Ultimate Fantasy Player of the Season accolade. Narine’s consistent brilliance throughout the tournament was pivotal to KKR’s success.

Other notable awards included the Most 4s, which went to Travis Head with 64 boundaries, and the Most 6s, claimed by Abhishek Sharma with 42 sixes. Jake Fraser-McGurk was recognized as the Striker of the Season with an extraordinary strike rate of 234.04. The Catch of the Season was awarded to Ramandeep Singh for his exceptional fielding effort.

SRH received the Fair Play Award for exemplary conduct on the field. The Hyderabad Cricket Association received the Pitch and Ground Award for maintaining excellent playing conditions throughout the tournament.
