In a recent incident, after their loss against Punjab Kings at home, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi posted a cryptic message on Instagram. In the story shared by the Afghani player, one can see the criticism of Pandya as captain.

Mumbai Indians haven’t had the best of stats in their campaign. They have lost three out of their seven games and currently dwell in the bottom half of the table.

Hardik Pandya has failed to perform both as a captain and player. And to rub salt in the wounds, reports are floating online that claim a rift between MI players.

Nabi posts story criticising captain Pandya

The post read, “Some of your captain’s decisions are strange and surprise people!? Nabi didn’t’ bowl today!” It further celebrated that Nabi took two catches, including that of dangerous-looking Ashutosh Sharma, along with Harpreet Brar. He also executed the runout of Kagiso Rabada at the end.

However, the player was quick to recognise his mistake. A few moments after sharing the post, it went viral, and some wild theories brewed around the internet that claimed a rift among players in the Mumbai Indians’ camp. Nabi took down the story later.

Coming to the game between Mumbai and Punjab, the visitors managed to clinch a narrow victory. Despite posting 192 on the board, MI found themselves in hot waters. They dismantled Punjab’s top order, but the lower order fired on all cylinders. Shashank and Ashutosh were once again as they brought this team closer to a win.

In the end, Mumbai clinched the match by just 9 runs. Ashutosh Sharma was the game’s unsung hero, as his innings of 61 runs from 28 balls went in vain.
