New Zealand has announced its squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with experienced batter Kane Williamson leading the charge as captain. The Kiwis opted for a seasoned squad featuring the likes of Williamson, fast bowling duo Tim Southee, and Trent Boult as they aim for their first title in the game’s shortest format.
The squad, announced on Monday, includes several familiar faces, with Williamson set for his sixth appearance at a T20 World Cup and fourth as skipper. Southee and Boult will also bring their vast experience to the table, with Southee making his seventh appearance and Boult his fifth at the tournament.
While the squad had no major surprises, key players like Kyle Jamieson and Adam Milne were ruled out due to injury. Despite some recent good form, players like Will O’Rourke, Tom Latham, Tim Seifert, and Will Young missed out on selection.
