After a long hiatus, the Indian southpaw Rishabh Pant is all set to return to competitive cricket, and his first game will most likely come in the Indian Premier League.
The player was ruled out of the 2023 season of the marquee tournament because of multiple injuries he sustained during a life-threatening accident.
Since then, he was sidelined for an indefinite period and missed out on a lot of cricketing action. However, the wait is over, as Rishabh Pant is all set to return to IPL in the 2024 edition.

“Nervousness is definitely one point which I have to work on, because whenever you do something exciting or something new, the nervousness is always there. Yes, this is my first time. But like I want to grow as an individual and learn whatever I can from it and really exciting because I don’t know, many people have done it or not, but I would love to be part of it, something exciting, something new,” Pant stated.
Just a few months ago, he also became the first active captain of a franchise in IPL to be a part of the auction. He sat at the table alongside the coach and mentors of the team.
The fans are excited to see their favourite back on the field. And Rishabh Pant cannot deny that the feeling is mutual. In a recent interview, he said he would “love to see people around because it’s been a while that he hasn’t been around people.”

Pant’s tenure at Delhi Capitals began in 2017 after he was picked up in the auction, following a very successful stint in the U19 World Cup in Bangladesh.
Pant was also a part of the Delhi team that made it to the final of the IPL in the 2021 edition under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer.
In the absence of Iyer, Pant was named the captain of the team.
Rishabh Pant has been with the team for 7 seasons and has played in 98 games, scoring 2838 runs at a strike-rate of 147. His return will be a massive boost for the side that saw a mediocre season under David Warner in 2023.
