IPL 2024 needs to be named the run fest year, as the record for the highest total in an inning is broken for the second time in the same season. SRH, who earlier broke the record for the highest team total, 263/3, by RCB in an earlier game against MI, has again taken charge and, this time, notched 10 more runs to make it 287 runs in just 20 overs.

The courtesy of the same goes to Australian batter Travis Head. He was phenomenal with the bat in hand in the first inning. His inning of 102 off just 41 balls set the tone for the game.

Head, for the season time in the season, scored a fifty within the powerplay itself. This gave his team a huge boost heading into the inning. Batters like Klaasen, Markram, and Abdul Samad handled the rest.

The Aussie smashed 8 sixes and 9 fours in his short innings to register the fourth-fastest hundred in the history of the IPL and the fastest century for SRH, breaking the previous record of his compatriot David Warner.

Henrich Klaasen showed his class with another blistering inning that saw 7 sixes being dispatched in all parts of the ground. The Protean batter scored 67 in 31 balls while batting with Markram, who scored 32 off 17.

Samad stole the limelight towards the end of the inning. The young Indian pinch-hitter stepped out of the shadows in the death overs. He played a blinder of a cameo, scoring 37 runs in just 10 balls. This inning helped them set a new record of 287 runs.

Apart from the personal milestones, some bigger overall records were also registered during the game.

Highest match aggregate in T20s

RCB might never looked like they could chase down the total. With constant wickets falling, they did well enough to only lose by a margin of 25 runs. They added 262 runs in their 20 overs, which means this game recorded the highest aggregate total of 549 runs, beating the previous one of 523 registered earlier in the same season.

Joint Most sixes in a T20 game

With both teams scoring more than 250 runs in the game, it doesnโ€™t come as a surprise that the record for most sixes in a T20 game was shattered, too. A total of 38 sixes were scored in the game, which is the joint highest with the other SRH-MI game, which saw 523 runs being scored.
